Masaru prizes one thing over most else, victory. He strives to attain it before all, except his own honor and pride, which he, even in his youth, protects quite fervently. He is careful of how he uses his name and who he gives his name to, for a name is all a man will ever have, so he protects it. Masaru is quiet and tends to keep to himself, but is always comparing himself to others, especially while watching them work. He is very analytic and is quite intelligent.
|Appearance|
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120lbs
Eye Color: Grey|Maroon
Hair Color: Black
Physical Appearance:
Masaru is a mess from how he looks, patches of hair missing, only one eye, and only two fingers on his left hand. He is permanently scarred over more than three quarters of his body from an accident in his youth. He wears an eye patch over his missing right eye, though he also has a glass eye that is used in conjunction with his skills, and has a red gem in his right eye, also used in some of his skills. The clothes he wears are not very typical of youth, more of the older monks from around the land, only dyed black. The robe he wears has one sleeve on his right arm, exposing his forearm and the wrap he wears around his upper arm. The left sleeve of this robe is extended down to nearly touching the ground, hiding his left hand, covering the fingers. The robes are made of a special material to be protected from wear, so he does not need to lift the sleeve to do seals.

History:
--- Birth and First Year ---
Masaru was born in Konoha to a small family. He was fated to live as the son of a wealthy businessman, wanting nothing and given everything. Masaru's father was liked amongst a large crowd of people, and hated by an equal sized crowd. There was often that his father would just vanish, and his mother would cry for several night, till he came back, beaten and hurt, but it never stopped him.
It was this, though, what would seal his fate, nearly that f his family. One night, just as dusk arrived, a fire had burst out in a room near Masaru's, then had spread, consuming the house whole. The entire place burned down that night, people had died. When they military police showed up the next day, they searched the ashes for any life, but found nothing. It seemed that the family had been burned to death, all gone. There was a obnoxious wailing, though, that had tipped them off to the existence of a young child nearby. After nearly three hours, the managed the find the youth, the baby Masaru, badly burned and laying half buried in the dirt, underneath a tree. There was no explanation of how he had gotten there, or who had done it.
Masaru was put up for adoption, but his horrible deformities turned most people away. Aside from this, the injuries he had sustained had also caused him more than just the deformities, but also a risk of death. The Medical Team had estimated that he had less than a twenty percent chance of surviving to be a genin. No family wanted that on their head.
Almost a year went by and Masaru's condition had not deteriorated, but hadn't gotten much better. A few times a young couple had come in, looking to adopt, but were turned away. There was no reason for this other than lack of experience, but when they returned this time, it was different. They were given a choice, to walk away with no child, or to take Masaru. They took Masaru.
--- Young Life ---
Masaru was adopted to a wealthy family of a shop owner, with great location. The shop was very fairly priced and located where everyone could easily access it, which helped to it's success. The business, after Masaru was adopted, seemed to have nearly doubled as people learned that the shopkeeper had adopted this child. He was not willing to take extra business simply due to the fact that Masaru was now his son, but if they were buying something and he had no just reason to kick them out of his shop, he could do no such thing.
Masaru was well taken care of and had regular doctors visits, all of which telling the new parents that their child would only live so long. however, his health had always checked out well with each appointment. He was always on the upper end of the spectrum. Masaru was a robust youth, never staying in one place, always trying to do what his parents were, but rarely being able to. He had nearly lost his left foot, making his walk a bit awkward, and he could not grasp anything in his left hand. As he aged, he began to work around this, finally figuring out how his body worked, learning new things as often as possible.
--- Academy Life ---
Masaru started the academy a full three years before a normal boy would. He had grown very fast and was able to deal and cope with things far better than his peers his own age. In the academy, he started on the basics, mastering them quickly then moving to the next level. His new classmates did not feel the same way about him as his parents did, they found it hard to accept his defects, hard to see through to the real Masaru. It was through this time that Masaru began to become more introverted and prideful of his name. His competitive side grew in the academy.
Masaru finished nearly everything before all of the other kids did, then kept going. As he neared the end, the seals became a bit problematic for him, being that he only had one good hand. Masaru had been allowed to work at his own pace, moving far ahead of everyone else, but this difficulty allowed them to catch up to him. In the end, Masaru would graduated with his class, at the top. He had mastered the use of seals, practicing with long strings, and could now use all of the academy techniques on an expert level. He would be placed on a genin team according to his level, and the levels of the others.
--- Genin Life ---
After the academy, Masaru had thought very highly of himself, but was soon found out to be mistaken. He was the top of his class, but his class was not the only to graduate. The Fujii boy was placed into a team with a Hyuuga and an Aburame, two of the strongest clans within the village, and strong with good reason. These two genin were stronger than Masaru, and had the skills to back it up, but it only fostered his own growth. Masaru grew quickly, but didn't learn any new ninjutsu. This would prove a flaw.
His teammates had grown close to him, as well as had his sensei. they recognized him as the strongest among them and during a routine mission, when something had gone wrong, the two teamed together in an attempt to save him. The Aburame, however, had fallen during the mission, and the Hyuuga was left unable to continue a ninja lifestyle. Masaru was taken off of the team, in waiting to be placed onto another. The Hyuuga had not ever blamed Masaru for anything but secretly he knew that if he had known something more useful than the academy techniques, it wouldn't have happened.
Masaru tried to forget the events of that day, not thinking of them. The death had left him in a light depression which would affect his behavior over the next few months.
